Hello Parents and Students,
Our Festival performances will take place this Friday, March 3 at East Lansing High School. The 7th grade orchestra will perform at 10:00am and the 8th grade orchestra will perform at 11:30am. The students will travel by bus from the middle school to the high school. Students should wear their concert uniform; white tux shirt, black pants/skirt, and black shoes. If you are having trouble obtaining any of these items, please let us know ASAP. We will find them for your student. Also, large jewelry, fingernails, and dark make-up or face paint are not appropriate for this performance. If a student is not in proper attire, they will not be allowed to attend the performance. The 7th grade orchestra should arrive to school in uniform. They can bring school clothes to change into when they return to the middle school. 8th grade orchestra students should bring their uniform to school, there will be time to change during orchestra class. At festival the orchestras will be performing three selections for an expert clinician. After the performance the orchestras will move to the band room and receive a 20 minute clinic on the music. All aspects of the festival are open to the public and we encourage you to attend if possible. Cellos and basses may be dropped off to the High School music wing (room 104) during the following times: Thursday March 2 7:30am-9:00am Thursday March 2 1:30pm-3:00pm Friday March 3 7:30am-9:00am There will be a post festival concert on March 9 for those of you who are unable to attend the festival performance. The concert will take place at the middle school and feature the 6th-8th grade orchestras. Thank you for your continued support of the orchestra program, David Rosin Byron Valentine

Unfortunately, the ELPS TV department will not be able to record our performances this year. If there is anyone who has the ability to videotape our performances, that would be great. We can set up a location in the center balcony for you to record. If it is recorded to a memory drive/stick our TV department can turn that into a DVD. Please let me know if you can help with this for any of the groups. As always thank you for your continued support of the orchestra program, David Rosin |
