I am very happy and excited to welcome Mr. Bryce Berry as our new 5-6 strings teacher. Check out a bit more about him below:)
A bit about Mr. Berry Mr. Berry is an extremely respected, well-known educator and musician in the East Lansing community. He is an excellent pianist, cellist, and singer and regularly performs as a singer/songwriter. Mr. Berry often writes his own music and songs to use while he works as a music educator. Many of them, such as the "Safe T Rap," "Parasaurolophus," and the "Turtle Song" are still used in the St. Johns and East Lansing schools where he has worked. His passion and talent for music earned him a vocal music scholarship at Michigan State University which he attended to earn a bachelor's degree in Music Performance. Subsequent to this coursework, Mr. Berry decided to change his focus to education, and worked as a paraprofessional in special education for four years. During this time he discovered a new passion: one for engaging students in learning, and challenging them to grow as learners as well as citizens. After his work in special education, Mr. Berry returned to MSU and graduated with a degree in Music Education in 2011. Since that time he has worked in the area as a musician and educator both in and out of the East Lansing schools. He also works as a private teacher in piano, cello and guitar. It is his goal to combine his range of music background with his ability to be an enthusiastic and devoted teacher. ------- We welcome Mr. Berry to the East Lansing Public Schools and to the Orchestra program!
